Accommodation

Accommodation for students is available at Tece Campus on the seaside.

Information concerning accommodation in the state and/or private dormitories as well as rental properties in the summer houses of residents who live in the areas can be obtained from the Student Affairs Office.

At present, the state dormitories in Mersin house 558 female students and 650 male students for the total of 1208 people. In Tece Campus, a four star hotel came into service as a dormitory. Space has been allotted for a dormitory on Çiftlikköy Campus. To help in solving the accommodation problem, private dormitories with a capacity of more than one thousand have been opened.

Transportation

Airways : Turkish Airlines (THY) fly daily from Adana Sakirpasa Airport to domestic and international destinations. Additionally, there are also charter flights. Adana is 70km far away from Mersin .

THY have regular flights to more than 70 international and 35 domestic airports. Apart from THY, some 300 foreign airliners have direct and connected flights to Turkish airports including Adana Sakirpasa Airport .

Local Transportation: Minibuses at the city line provide transportation to the Campus. The fare is paid cash to the driver and it is cheaper for the students.

Medical Facilities

The University's health service is a service providing general medical care. It is carried out by General Directorate of Health, Culture and Sports. Medical Center is located in the main campus and offers a full range of medical and dental services to the students, academic and administrative staff.

Major illnesses requiring admission to hospitals are sent to the University Hospital . The health center comprises various polyclinics, fully equipped clinical laboratories, radiological examination rooms and an emergency room.

Medical doctors are available Monday through Friday from 8.00 to 12.00 and 13.00 to 17.00

Foreign students are advised to come with a health insurance to Mersin University . Also, in case of insurance against theft and other kinds of insurance are voluntary and maybe taken care of by the student's on national insurance company or by a special Turkish insurance during their stay in Turkey .
